On 7 December 2008, a small restaurant opened opposite Muscat Municipality in Darsait with a simple conviction: Kerala food, cooked the Kerala way, served with pride to every guest who walked through the door.

The same rice, the same fish curry with kudampuli, the same parottas torn by hand at the table. Sixteen years later, it still is.
What Ananthapuri became — a 4.4-star TripAdvisor institution, the first recommendation every Keralite in Muscat gives a visitor — was never planned. It was earned, plate by plate.
